WEAPON MAX UPGRADE help
ok, i have a sword that i think about upgrading,
its a Zealous Crenellated Sword ok i am new to like the game, i want to get MAX or MAX Upgrade on this weapon. what are the basics things that i can upgrade, like for example, i have seen ppl saying "20/20" i know that i can't upgrade the slashing damage / zelous( NAME) i have read this http://www.gwonline.net/page.php?p=125 but it still isn't that clear to me, because im looking for upgrades with the highest armor pent or wahtever. i got GOLD items that have a high require like 10, that no one wants. what should i do with it? salvage it? and hopefully get a upgrade component on that weapon? HELP PELASE! |

That sword is not Max damage, and theres no way to upgrade that.
So salvage it, and get that Zealous mod and sell the mod... Once you do get a max damage sword you want to upgrade - heres the basics. YOu can change the Prefix (zealous on yours) and Suffix (none on yours). Nothing else. Its damage and + damage % mods will always be the same. The only way of changing it from slashing dmg is to add a Elemental Dmg Prefix, which would remove the Zealous prefix. (only 1 can be on at a time). Max Upgrades include: Prefix: 1/1 Zealous like you have. 20/20 Sundering (thats 20% chance at 20% armor penetration) 3/1 Vampiric (3 life stealing every hit, -1 degen) Elemental Ones Duration Ones (ones that increase duration of certain condition by 33%) Suffix: 20% longer enchants +1 Swordsmanship 20% chance +30 health +5 defense Theres more, these are major ones. |

I think you should get max damage (15-22) sword before you start worrying about upgrades.

As far as req goes...most look for lowest req available on a max damage weapon. Req 7 or 8. Reason being, this frees up attribute points for other skill areas. That's the only thing it does.
As far as salvaging high req weapons, if they have a nice mod by all means try. If they are plain jane weapons. Sell back to merchant or salvage them. As far as How you will know when you find the Sundering 20/20 thing. If you ID (identify) the item, with an identification kit purchased from merchant, it will tell you something like this..... Sundering Sword ##-## Slashing Dmg (Requires # Swordmanship) 20% armor penetration (20% chance) |
